About the Company
No Recess provides the services of a music-based content company, combining the strengths of skilled creative teams who seek to empower entertainers. Our aim is to be the driving force behind the musician, covering everything from artist development to distribution of content.
Our 2023 project, Idol School, is an artist development program for creatives and entertainers. The fourth wall of our projects will employ skilled creatives, influencers and business owners from across Canada.
Idol School will be presented to market as a reality tv show, shot in Toronto, Ontario highlighting the processes behind the scenes of a variety of positions in the entertainment industry.
About the Role
Plan, direct, and coordinate motion picture filming: Confer with DIRECTOR, MOTION PICTURE regarding interpretation of scene and desired effects.
Observe set or location and review drawings and other information relating to natural or artificial conditions to determine filming and lighting requirements.
Read charts and compute ratios to determine required lighting, film, shutter angles, filter factors, camera distance, depth of field and focus, angles of view, and other variables to produce desired effects.
Confer with ELECTRICIAN, CHIEF to establish lighting requirements.
Select cameras, accessories, equipment, and film stock, utilizing knowledge of filming techniques, filming requirements, and computations.
Instruct camera operators regarding camera setup, angles, distances, movement, and other variables and signals cues for starting and stopping filming.
Survey set or location for potential problems, observes effects of lighting, measures lighting levels, and coordinates necessary changes prior to filming.
View film after processing and makes adjustments, as necessary, to achieve desired effects.
May direct television productions which utilize electronic cameras.
Requirements
Degree in film, art or photography an asset.
